A little bit More about Me…

Ever since I was little, I knew I wanted to care for people. I would often take my cabbage patch dolls and make a pretend cast on their arm or leg and nurse them back to health. As I grew I tried on many different hats to figure out what fit best and the only thing I knew definitively was working in a hospital full time was not for me.

I went to nursing school in my junior and senior year of high school and loved it but the hospital setting wasn’t for me so I was back to the drawing board. I worked in a nursing home setting caring for elderly which was equally heartbreaking and fulfilling. Then I was a nanny caring for newborn to 3yo’s. I loved it all truthfully.

Then I got married and had children of my own which was my dream come true. Who knew being a mom was the best job ever!?!? In a world where we were told staying at home and raising children wasn’t valued or worth it, I went against the flow and dove in feet first. Raising and homeschooling 3 boys and a girl was rewarding, beautiful, stressful, exhausting, and The Best!!! We traveled the world living overseas and in several different states with them and I often got asked “are they are all yours”. LOL Now they are mostly grown and I have 4 grambabies and 2 more expected next year! Sadly they live far away.

So, it came time to decide “what I want to be when I grow up” and the answer was quite simple!

A GRAMMA!

Since they are far away it’s not that simple but becoming a DOULA and caring for moms and their babies is the absolute Next Best Thing!

Outside of caring for others, I love F.A.M.I.L.Y., photography, chickens, hiking, waterfalls, my hubby, homesteading, and tattoos!
